Uganda is a great destination to experience Wildlife viewing in both forest and Savannah. Not to be missed is Gorilla tracking in Bwindi; while chimpanzee can be spotted in Kyambura Gorge in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Both Queen Elizabeth and Murchison Falls National Parks offer wonderful savannah safari with good wildlife viewing.

Detailed Itinerary; -

Day 1: Arrival Entebbe International Airport and transfer to hotel

Our tour representative at the airport who will transfer you to Papyrus guesthouse where you will have an overnight based on bed and breakfast will meet you.

 Day 2: Entebbe to Murchison Falls National Park

Pick up from your Hotel after breakfast and drive to Murchison Falls National park, en route visit the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for the Rhino experience. This is the only home for the Rhinos in the wild herein Uganda; enjoy a Rhino tracking experience and then proceed for lunch at Masindi town, thereafter enter the park and proceed for the top of the falls Hike, here River Nile Explodes Violently forming a very powerful waterfall. This is an experience that brings all the senses into play: watch waves of white water tumble hypnotically through this six-meter chasm, listen to the roar, taste the spray on your face and feel the rock shake beneath your feet. Proceed and check in your accommodation.

Day 3: Game drive and boat cruise in Murchison Falls

After breakfast go for a game drive. This park is the Uganda’s largest National Park and measures about 3840 square kilometers together with Karuma and Bugungu wildlife reserve. The vegetation of the park is savannah, Riverine forest and wood land. During your game drive, you will see a variety of wildlife such as Giraffes, Leopards, Elephants, Lions, Uganda kob and many others. Nocturnal species common in this area are; Spotted and Verreaux’s Owls, and a plethora of spectacular Nightjars, such as Long-tailed and Pennat-winged Nightjar, The mind-blowing Standard-winged Nightjar. Return for lunch and then go for an afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls where you may see lots of hippos, crocodiles, elephants. Return to your accommodation.

Day 4: Murchison Falls National Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park

06.30 proceed 20 minutes to Paraa to conduct a boat trip into the Victoria Nile Delta are of the National Park. The delta area is quite spectacular with several endemic mammal species to be seen to include Rothschild's giraffe and elephant. The Shoebill stork is also to be found in the delta a must see species for the avid bird enthusiast.

Return to lodge for lunch,at 13.45 you will again leave the lodge to return to Pakuba Airstrip for Scheduled afternoon flight to Kasese Airstrip.

You will be headed to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Queen Elizabeth National park is the most popular tourist destination in Uganda and is one of the oldest National parks in the country with a variety of animal and bird species. Proceed and check in for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 5:  Chimpanzee Tracking in Kyambura Gorge , Queen Elizabeth National Park

After an early morning breakfast, prepare for a transfer to the Kyambura sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This gorge is well known for chimpanzee trekking. Arrivals for briefing and proceed for chimp trekking in the gorge,  proceed to the Lodge. In the afternoon enjoy yet another game drive in the Kasenyi sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 6: Game drive and boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Go for  Game drive in the Park after breakfast, you may see animals like; lions, Buffalo, Elephants, Giant forest hog, Waterbucks, Bushbucks and Kobs. You may also see birds like jacana, shoebill and pelican. Later in the afternoon go for a boat cruise along Kazinga channel where you may spot different animal species such as Crocodiles, Hippos, herds of hippos and elephants sloping down for water as well as different bird species.

Day 7 : Queen Elizabeth  -  Kasese – Kisoro -Nkuringo

With an early breakfast drive to Kasese Airstrip for your transfer flight to Kisoro. Pick up by the guide at Kisoro Airstrip, drive to Nkuringo sector of   Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

 This “impenetrable” forest is also home to more than 320 mountain gorillas, 400 species of plants, 120 species of mammals and over 350 species of birds.

Optional Activity

Conduct a canoe excursion on Lake Mutanda piloted by Local fisherman, our walking safari guide to embark in dugout canoes for 2 1/2 hours on Lake Mutanda will meet you. After canoe trip you can continue the walk up to Rubuguri 9km. At Rubuguri junction you will be met by the Vehicle to continue to Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge 10km.

Day 8: Gorilla tracking Activity

This is the climax of this safari, briefing is done before tracking. It takes a few minutes but you leave with gorilla etiquette. Comfortable shoes and clothes are advised along with packed lunch and a walking stick. Walk and hike this steep and slippery terrain until you meet the family gorilla. Enjoy this one hour allowed in the company of the brilliant giants! Looking into the eyes of one of the magnificent creature brings home the distressing fact that they are on the edge of extinction, and that your presence contributes to ensuring their continual survival

Depending on the duration of the track you can either relax in the afternoon at the lodge or enjoy another walk around the village or hike up to the highest football field with the breath taking view ever!

Day 9:   Buniga Batwa Experience  or Optional Second Gorilla tracking – Rushaga

Visit the Buniga pocket forest is rich with diversity floral. It is often visited by birder for its diverse bird life, with over 100 species of birds identified within and near to the forest. The trail within the Buniga Forest allows visitors the chance to sit and listen to the birds. The forest is also habitat for many mammals species to include;- Duikers, primates like the Black and white colobus monkeys and Chimpanzees.

The Batwa were the original people of the forest, they were here for thousands of years before the Bantu People, the Cultivators of the Land arrived. The Batwa People – are pygmies – were hunter gatherers and lived in the forests of Southwest Uganda and beyond. They left a small ecological footprint on the forest and lived in harmony with nature.  You can visit the forest (actually outside of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest) with the Batwa People and learn of their traditional ways of hunting and gathering.

Optional second Gorilla Trek  (Additional USD 600- per person)

Have an early morning breakfast and at around 6:45am, you will set off to Rushaga some 23km from the lodge. This early morning departure is to allow some time for photographic opportunities as you descend down the valley from Nkuringo

The drive at first light in the morning is gorgeous as the sun illuminates the volcanoes of the Virunga on the southern horizon and as you approach Rushaga the sunlight is fractured as it cascades through the primary forest of the national park. All the Rushaga groups have the same briefing point at Rushaga then clients dispatch to track their respective Gorilla groups. After tracking, you will return to the lodge.

Day 10: Transfer Kisoro – Scheduled Flight Entebbe

Early morning breakfast and transfer to Kisoro Airstrip for flight to Entebbe, estimated arrival time 11:30 am – Day room use at Papyrus Guesthouse – transfer for evening Flight back home.
