Our 3 day safari to Samburu will take you to explore the national reserve which is located on the banks of the Ewaso Ng’iro River in Kenya. On the other side of the river is the Buffalo Springs National Reserve. The park is 165 km² in size and is situated 350 kilometers from Nairobi. The reserve is well known for the presence of unique species such as Gravy’s Zebra, the long – necked Gerenuk gazelle, Biesa Oryx and the Blue necked Somalia Ostrich among the wildlife.
SAFARI ITINERARY AT GLANCE
Day 1: Transfer from Nairobi for a safari IN Samburu National Reserve
Meet and greet by our representatives and proceed to Samburu National Park, crossing the thorny landscape of Samburu County. Samburu National park is known for the presence of unique species such as Gravy’s Zebra, the long-necked Gerenuk, among the wildlife that shares this semi-arid habitat .Arrive in Samburu time for lunch, after lunch proceed for afternoon game drive in search of wildlife such as reticulated Giraffe, Gravy’s zebra, Beisa Oryx and the blue necked Somalia ostrich. Day 2: Full day Safari exploration in Samburu National Reserve
On this day,after breakfast you will spend Full day option in Samburu National park or early morning and afternoon game drives in park, which covers 40 square miles (104 square kilometers). Ololokwe Table Mountain forms a dramatic backdrop to our game viewing.
Samburu is also home to the third of Kenya’s giraffe species – the rare Reticulated Giraffe (only found in the Northern parks). This is also where you see the blue-legged Somali Ostrich, the long-necked Gerenuk gazelle and the straight-horned Beisa Oryx antelope. Overnight at in Samburu riverside tented camp
Day 3: Game drive in Samburu National reserve and transfer back to Nairobi
Its yet another early morning in the wild with game drive viewing wildlife that we might have missed the previous days in Samburu then back to the lodge for abrunch and check out. Depart for Nairobi with a stopover along the way for a chance to buy souvenirs.
