On this 12 Day Tanzania Odyssey and Zanzibar Beach Holiday, you will have a chance to experience some of the highlights of the Northern Safari Circuit. Safari In Details

Day 1: Arrive at the Kilimanjaro International Airport

Upon arrival, our safari representative will highly be available to welcome and cheer you up as you transfer from Kilimanjaro International Airport to your hotel in Arusha. Our staff will answer all your queries regarding your upcoming safari and provide you with a short briefing as well. Get enough rest to overcome the jet lag at your accommodation at Tourist Inn hotel or Arusha Planet Lodge in Arusha for overnight

Day 2: Transfer to Explore Tarangire National Park

With a lazy breakfast, your guide will pick you up and proceed to Tarangire National park one of the largest national park in Tanzania located in Manyara region, this place is characterized by the large herds of elephants, tree climbing lions, and the fascinating baobab trees also called the Tree of Life for its almost mythical powers that some cultures attach to it. This park is especially known for Tarangire River which flows all year round and the only source of water for wild animals during dry seasons. Overnight at Tarangire Simba Lodge

Day 3: Safari Experience in Lake Manyara - The Home of Tree Climbing Lions

After breakfast, we will continue with your epic Tanzania Odyssey to Lake Manyara National Park which is the smallest but diverse park, 120km west of Arusha, is so named for the shallow salt lake which covers a good seventy percent of the park's surface area. Flooding and drying with the seasons the soda lake is home to thousands of flamingos as well as over 500 other bird species. On our exploration of the park, we will see monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, elephants, and, with some luck, lions lounging in the trees. The park is known for its diverse landscapes; not only open grassy plains but also primate-filled woodlands and baobab dotted cliffs. Day 4: Transfer to Lake Manyara and Later to Lake Eyasi

After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park. This is a relatively small but diverse park, 120km west of Arusha. The park’s namesake is a shallow, salt lake. It covers a large area of the park, flooding and drying with the seasons and is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species. On your exploration of the park you will see monkeys, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant and with some luck, lions lounging in the trees. The park is known for its diverse landscapes; not only open grassy plains, but also primate-filled woodlands and baobab dotted cliffs.
After lunch and extensive game drive you will drive to your accommodation for dinner and overnight at Lake Eyas safari lodge

Day 5: Lake Eyasi With Hadzabe & Datoga, Mbulu Community Experience 

Lake Eyasi is a seasonal shallow endothecia salt lake on the floor of the Great Rift Valley at the base of the Serengeti Plateau, just south of the Serengeti National Park and immediately southwest of the Ngorongoro Crater in the Crater Highlands of Tanzania. The lake is elongated, orientated southwest to northeast, and lies in the Eyasi-Wembere branch of the Great Rift Valley.

The Hadzabe Bushmen live in this region, as do the Datoga and Mbulu tribes. A visit with the Bushmen is worthwhile and they will graciously show you where and how they live and hunt. They subsist entirely off the bush and by bow hunting. Everything they use is made from local materials, including their bows which are strung with giraffe tendon and their arrows which are coated in lethal poison. Their language resembles that of Kalahari Bushmen tribe (who were featured in the 1980 film ‘The Gods Must Be Crazy’) with clicking noises used.

The Datoga and Mbulu people are pastoralists, like the Maasai people.

Day 6: Transfer to Serengeti Central (Seronera) - The Lion King Experience

After breakfast, you will drive through the rolling hills of the Ngorongoro highlands Conservation Area. There will be a chance to stop and see the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. You will then transit through Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the Serengeti.

The Serengeti is truly spectacular. It is famous for its vast open grasslands which allow for excellent sightings of wildlife. The Serengeti boasts an abundance of wildlife such as giraffes, impalas, buffalos, crocodiles, and hippos. In addition to the iconic landscapes, you have a good chance of encountering predators and you may see lions, cheetahs and leopards. After your game drive, you will head towards your accommodation in time for dinner. Overnight at Into Wild Africa Tented Camp

Day 7: Living with predators of Serengeti (Central – Seronera)

You will spend the whole day exploring the park, its animals and incredible landscapes. The Serengeti is the habitat for an abundance of wildlife, such as impalas, buffalo, crocodiles and hippos, but is more well-known for its great migrating herds of zebras and wildebeest. The animals’ trek is determined by the rainfall and varies from year to year. Apart from the migrating herds, you may see predators, such as leopards, cheetahs and lions.

After your exploration at the park, you will drive back to your accommodation for Dinner and overnight at Into Wild Africa  Tented Camp

Day 8: Ngorongoro Highlands - Crater Rim Experience - The Garden of Eden

Bird calls means morning is here another day in Africa, breakfast, then with our picnic lunch we depart for Ngorongoro crater rim. When you first see Ngorongoro Crater, it looks like a forgotten world.  Concealed by the steep volcanic walls is a pristine wilderness including sweeping savannah, pockets of acacia woodland and glistening lakes and swamps.  The Crater was created when a large volcano exploded and collapsed in on itself two to three million years ago. It is famous for both its geological delights and for being a natural reserve which is home to some of the densest large mammal populations in the whole of the African continent. The drive down the into the Crater is an adventure in itself and when you reach the Crater floor, you quickly find yourself amongst large numbers of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and more than 500 bird species. The Crater provides you with the best chance of seeing the endangered black rhino, which can sometimes be spotted in the open grasslands.

After Lunch and an extensive game drive inside the crater, we head for our comfort partner lodges in Karatu for dinner and overnight. Dinner and overnight at Eileen’s Trees Inn. 

Day 9: Masai Community Experience at Mto wa Mbu - Transfer to Arusha Airport and Fly to Zanzibar

With Breakfast at leisure, you will immerse yourself with the Masai Community living near Mto wa Mbu (Place for mosquitoes). Learn about Masai cultures and their way of living before being transferred to the Arusha Airport for your beach holiday in Zanzibar. Overnight at Nungwi Dream Hotel by Mantis

Day 10: Full Day relaxation at the Beach

After a long thriller on the African dusty roads exploring the Nothern Tanzania, its now time to real and swim with the dolphins, do snokerling as well as diving in the blue waters of the Indian Ocean. Overnight at Nungwi Dream Hotel

Day 11: Spice Tour & Prison Island And Stone Town Walking Tour.  

Morning after breakfast 0800hrs, you transfer from hotel to spice farm a trip to the lush green gardens of innumerable species of spices and tropical fruits trees and learn how spice used in traditional cooking, medicine and cosmetics. Discover strong Zanzibar spice such as nutmeg, ginger root, cardamom, vanilla, black paper, cinnamon, cloves etc. you will have the chance to test and touch all spices and visit spice market to buy strong Zanzibar spices by affordable price.

Thereafter will have the chance to relax on beautiful island known as Changuu island situated north west of stone town, 20 minutes ride to cross the water by small motorboat. The island was used to house rebellious slave, it’s also the home of land giant Aldabra tortoises who imported from Seychelles in the late of 19th century. Have a nice moment to visit tortoises park and play with them quite close, fed the tortoise and get memorable photo with them, visit incredible prison building. 

On top of that, you will have the chance to explore the heritage capital city of Zanzibar known as old stone town. Stone town is navel of historical site, this tour gives guests opportunities to stroll around narrow street alleys and discovering historical buildings such as House of wonder built in 1883, national museum (formerly sultan residence) opened 1925, former old slave market at cathedral church built in 1873 and learn the slave trade story. Visit old central market built in 1904, a bustling place where fish, fruits, vegetable and spices are sold. Stone town is well known as shopping center, do shopping around narrow street by affordable price shop and discover unique Arabs and Indian curved doors at the hidden corner. Other place to visit around stone town are old fort, Indian temp, Freddy mercury house of birth etc. you will have driven back to hotel. Accommodation Maru Maru hotel Stone town.

Day 12: Departure Day at Leisure

With a lazy breakfast, get on with the check out process, transfer from the hotel to Zanzibar international Airport, arrive at the airport at the time as indicated on the fight tickets.
