Tour Itinerary

Day 1. Arrival Juba by Ethiopian Airline arriving at 0930 Hours.

Our company representative will be highly waiting to welcome and cheer you up as you transfer to your new home away from home. Time allowing begin your adventure with a city tour of Juba. Discover the vibrant Konyo Market, where local artisans display their crafts. Visit the John Garang Mausoleum and Jubek Tomb, paying homage to South Sudan’s influential leaders. Overnight at the comfortable Royal Palace Hotel in Juba.

Day 2. Transfer from Juba to Torit – Lotuko tribe and community experience.

Based in Torit region, the Lotuko people are a Nilotic ethnic group that populates the region characterized by ranges and mountain spurs such as the Imatong Mountain, the highest mountain in South Sudan. As agro-pastoralists, they keep large herds of cattle, sheep, and goats, and supplement this with hoe farming, hunting, and fishing. The land is communally owned. Constant nomadic movements rule the day; the group decides the boundaries of each person's garden, with certain areas being fallow for several years. Lotuko's religion is based on nature and ancestor worship that is deeply rooted in their ethnic identity. Overnight at Mobile Camping

Day 3: Boya / Larim Tribal Settlement - Imattong Hills- Boya Tribe

Venture towards the Boya / Larim tribal settlement, passing through the village of Camp 15. Immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of these tribes. Later, drive to the majestic Lotuku Mountains, where you will visit the captivating village of Illeu. Overnight camping in the scenic surroundings

Day 4: Kapoeta Exploration - Topossa Tribe and Gold Mine River Exploration

Drive back to Kapoeta for lunch and alternatively, explore the bustling afternoon market, filled with vibrant colors and lively activity. Afternoon drive to Pariyang and discover the traditional gold mine, gaining insights into the local economy. Overnight at the charming Keleu Hotel in Kapoeta.

Day 5. Transfer day to Juba City. Overnight at Juba Royal Palace Hotel

Its yet another day to head back to Juba city. With breakfast at leisure, enjoy the sunrise photography and explore the Toposa artefacts before we drive to Juba cutting the journey to Mundari shorter. Overnight at the comfortable Royal Palace Hotel

Day 6: Transfer to Terekeka-home of Mundari Tribe - Experience the Cattle Camps.

Morning transfer to Terekeka after breakfast and stay with the Mundari tribe for a full day, witnessing their nomadic lifestyle and traditional practices. Like other Nilotic tribes, are very cattle-oriented: cattle serve as food, a form of currency, and a mark of status. The prospective groom offering cattle to the bride’s family arranges marriages and husbands may take as many wives as they can support.

As a common practice among the Nilotic tribes in south Sudan, the Mundari also observe ritual scarification as a rite of passage into adulthood for young men. The typical Mundari scar pattern consists of two sets of three parallel lines, each on either side of the forehead, extending in a downward slope and unconnected in the middle. Day 7. Half Day Mundari tribe experience - Transfer to Juba.

Have the last tribe experience with the Mundari people before heading for an afternoon boat cruise on the White Nile River as we head to Juba city for an overnight. Overnight at Juba Royal Palace Hotel

Day 8. Departure at leisure from Juba to Nairobi with Ethiopian Airlines.

We have unfortunately come to an end of our tribes and community immersion during the authentic South Sudan tour. Depending on your flight schedule, you can enjoy your lazy time doing shopping in Juba city. Departure at leisure.
